Information for new immigrants

It’s important to get off to a good start. On the job market too, of course. That’s why waff helps people who are new to Austria.

New immigrants can take advantage of the following benefits:

  • Information on work and careers in a variety of languages – as part of the Start Wien programme.
  • Perspektive
If new immigrants have acquired qualifications or undertaken education and training abroad, we check whether this can be recognized in Austria.
  • Grants
We also refund various fees. And we provide funding for vocational education and training.

Let’s get started: initial information on work and careers in your language

Our service for anyone who is new to Vienna: information events on work and careers. This is where you will find out important information about:

  • the current situation on the job market
  • the legal framework if you want to start work
  • looking for work

Information in your native language

To help new immigrants find out about their rights, duties and opportunities on the job market, waff provides an overview in the following languages: Albanian, Arabic, Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian, Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech/Slovak, English, Farsi, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Turkish.

Participants should bring their Vienna Education Booklet (Wiener Bildungspass) to the event. You can find the dates of the upcoming events here; there is no need to register.
